Two Awesome & Unique Trips To Orlando & Walt Disney World Florida!!

Michelle from Ohio:

The kids will have a great time in Walt Disney World FloridaThe best thing about Walt Disney World Florida was a restaurant called, Fish Bones!!! All the steaks and such were cooked on an open pit fired grill at the front of the restaurant! Everyone had an awesome Calamari (Octopus)...and we all had some of the best steaks in the world!!!

It was located there in Orlando right off the main strip, one block down!!! There was valet parking or you could park yourself, yet it was casual enough for us with jeans and shorts! If I could fly anywhere in the world for dinner tonight, Fish Bones is where I'd be!!!

Cocoa Beach wasn't far from Orlando & Walt Disney World Florida, 45 - 50 min., and the drive was beautiful. The bridge going over was awesome! So long and wide open...WOW, is the word!

There was plenty of public parking and the Florida beaches were breathtaking! The kids had a great time playing on the beach and we enjoyed lounging and walking along the coast.

We stayed in a Florida time share in Walt Disney World Florida. It was across the street from the Sea World entrance. We wanted to do the Sea World Swim with the dolphins and such, but I guess they are booked 10 and 12 months in advanced! So, get your tickets early!! It would have been amazing though!

We went to Walt Disney World Florida and it was so-so and cost LOTS of $$$$$$! Our 9 and 10 year olds had a great time, but it wasn't the place for a 2 yr. old!!! It was soooo hot for all of us and the lines everywhere were ridiculous!!!!

You can now put your ticket in this machine at each ride instead of getting in line and it prints out a ticket for you with a future walk up time to come ride the ride but, some of them were HOURS away.

I think we were all kinda disappointed in the day! And sooooo much money was spent there, I know I already said that but, it's the truth and just...I'll stop there!

We wish we would have tried some of the other theme parks in Walt Disney World Florida. Maybe the Spring and Fall, maybe even Winter would be the time to go so the weather is more tolerable! We recommend hitting the pools and best Florida beaches during the summer and choosing other activities accordingly!!

If in Orlando, be sure to check out City WalkThe main strip in Orlando had tons of stuff to go and do!!! Shops, outlets, festivals with TONS of rides, we did this the last night and should have done it all week! They had race tracks, three or four different levels, you had to be a certain age or height to get to the next level! It was so neat! The name of it was something like, Fun World? Anyways, it was a blast for all of us!!

The Ron Jon Surf Shop was amazing in Orlando and Cocoa Beach (discover a Cocoa Beach Florida vacation here)!!! Just BEAUTIFUL! They were on the main strip in both cities! The strip in Orlando was just packed with sooo much, especially at night! Live music, shops, food, drinks, magic, so on and so on! We had fun at City Walk in Walt Disney World Florida!

Our pool at our time share had activities for the kids every three hours, during the day. From painting projects, to ice cream socials, races - in and out of the water, face painting, nature walks - sunrise and sunset, scuba lessons so on and so on!

Some of the activities were free, some were a few dollars and there were some that were a bit more costly! It just depended on what the kids were interested in and how old they were! There was also babysitting services and movie night for kids and then parents! We let the kids do some of the stuff but, we had a lot going on already!

September from Ohio:

Treasure Island, not to be confused with Pleasure Island is tons of funWe mostly stayed on Walt Disney World Florida property the whole time. We went to all 4 theme parks, all of which were great. When staying at one of their resorts, Walt Disney World Florida offers special theme park hours.

Each day, one park opens an hour early, and each night one park stays open up to three hours later for resort guests. The extra hours make it much easier to see everything (there’s so much to fit into a day!) and also makes it easier to get around as the crowd thins out significantly.

Highlights of each park: Epcot – Mission Space –great roller coaster (not for queasy stomachs) Animal Kingdom – Jungle Safari – wonderful tour thru the the habitat with elephants, giraffes, lions, etc. Fun for kids and adults. Magic Kingdom – Spectra Light Parade – beautiful parade of light filled floats featuring many Disney characters/movie themes MGM – Tower of Terror and the Rockin’ Roller Coaster are must do’s!

If you have children, you have to get them an autograph book. There are different Walt Disney World Florida characters at each of the parks, and they stop for autograph signing. The kids love to meet them and pose for pictures after they sign the book.

Also, if your taking younger kids, I would recommend character dining. You normally need to book in advance as they sell out quickly, and it’s a little pricey (minimum about $25 per person for lunch or breakfast) but, it’s worth it!! As you eat, Walt Disney World Florida characters come to each table (different characters depending on the theme of the dining you purchased) and sign autograph books, take pictures, etc...

We found out quickly that while everything is ridiculously expensive, gas is actually cheaper at Disney. When we were there, gas outside of the Walt Disney World Florida property was $2.52 per gallon; at Disney, it was $2.15.

Downtown Walt Disney World Florida has some good shopping. My favorite place was Hoy Poloi. It’s kind of an eclectic art gallery with lots of interesting stuff. A little pricey, but definitely cool. Pleasure Island has great nightlife, with everything ranging from dance clubs, to restaurants, to comedy clubs.

More than enough attractions in Orlando and Disney for all agesWe would definitely go back and strongly recommend staying at any of Disney’s resorts. They are priced from Value to Deluxe (from under $100 to $300+ per night), and the convenience makes it worth every dime.

You can take the bus from your resort to any park, and you can have anything you purchase at the parks, Downtown Disney, Pleasure Island, etc. delivered to your resort so you don’t have to carry it around all day.

Also, in Orlando there is an outlet mall with great stores. They have Ralph Lauren, Versace, etc. It’s huge!

One the way home, we stopped at the Kennedy Space Center (unsure what city?), and it wasn't what we expected. It was expensive to get in (about $100 for 2 adults and 1 child). There was nothing to see except pictures of planets, etc. The same stuff you would see at any of our local museum. The history to it all was neat, but I would not go back there.

I recently discovered TripAdvisor, where millions of people write reviews about their travel experiences, including hotel reviews. (Each review is checked by TripAdvisor to be sure they are honest.)
