Starting at the top of the state, St Augustine Florida is home to two of the official courses of the World Golf Hall of Fame located at The World Golf Village.

King & Bear was named by its two Hall of Fame designers; Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus and is a 7,279-yard course that boasts beautiful scenery to include ancient live oaks, lakes and pines.

Slammer & Squire, designed by Hall of Fame members Sam (The Slammer) Snead and Gene (The Squire) Sarazen, is a 6,939-yard resort course and has views of the World Golf Hall of Fame from several holes.

It also boasts nature at its best with preserved wood and wetlands and beautiful scenery like its counterpart.

Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club is one of the top public golf courses in the Central Florida area. It was designed by Steve Smyers and the layout includes amazing hillsides that extend over 7,200 yards.

One of thing that is unique about this course versus other Central Florida courses is the 100 foot elevation changes.

The other thing that makes this one of the top golf vacations is its proximity to Walt Disney World, just 15 minutes away.

So if you’re vacationing with the family in Orlando and golf is your passion, the Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club is one gem that is waiting to be discovered.

Moving towards the western part of Florida, Imperial Lakewoods Golf Club in Sarasota Florida was ranked one of the top courses in the area by Golf Digest.

Imperial Lakewoods Golf Club opened in 1987 and was designed by architect Ted McAnlis. Imperial is located on over 500 acres and includes 16 lakes amongst a beautiful backdrop of maples, large oaks, palm trees and endless terrain.

Golfers who have visited Imperial have earned its respect as some of the holes on the front and back nine blends with its natural surroundings to produce a golf experience at its finest.

In the lower eastern portion of Florida, The Hammock Creek Golf Club located in Palm City was opened in 1996 and was designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son, Jack Nicklaus II.

Hammock Creek is one of the first Florida golf courses to be designed by this family golf-duo. The course stretches out over 7,107 yards and is known for its computerized digital cart display.

This Global Positioning Satellite System shows accurate yardage and layout of the course.
