However, you will want to take note that Tampa is the home to a lot of tourist attractions, great people, and an area of beauty.
Right next to St. Pete's and the way to one of our favorite Florida beaches, the Clearwater Florida beaches, the Tampa Florida beaches are your getaway that represent the laid back atmosphere Florida is all about.
Also, we want to mention that you can fly directly into Tampa or take a dream cruise our of the port.
The other great thing about Tampa Florida is that it isn't as crowded as other Florida vacation spots, yet offers some of the most gorgeous waterfront, white-sandy beaches, and plenty to do.
Being the hub of the Gulf Coast and directly in the middle, Tampa allows for lots to do in the area and in neighboring towns.
Again, you are close to Clearwater Beach, St. Petersburg, & an hour from Sarasota Florida or Orlando. Plus you are right on Tampa Bay where you can enjoy boating, fishing, and access to a myriad of water activities.
Within Tampa you will find attractions, more notably, Busch Gardens and Ybor City. You can't go wrong with the zoo or aquarium for a day with the family and Adventure Island may be an activity to look into.
If the weather is not nice one day and the Tampa Florida beaches are closed, you might venture into one of the museums Tampa is rich in culture with.
Other tourist attractions to check out include, safaris, day tours, water parks, shopping, and sporting events. There is always something to do, but be sure you head over to the Tampa Florida beaches that surround this authentic city.
You will have plenty of choices for places to stay on your Tampa Florida vacation.
Not being directly on the Florida beaches, you will find that the majority of hotels are major chains. The mom and pop shops we like are going to be closer to the Tampa Florida beaches in nearby beach towns.
We suggest if you are going to stay within the city area you choose places like Holiday Inn, Marriott, Grand Hyatt, or Hilton hotels. I would look for something overlooking the Tampa Bay- it is a breathtaking view!
In all honesty we have not eaten within the Tampa area a whole lot. There are some great restaurants on the bay that have shown to be always crowded and a tourist favorite.
Bahama Breeze offers a Caribbean flair, The Columbia is quite tasty and a staple in the state of Florida, we hear Jackson's is great for steak and sushi, and finally if you are searching for fish/seafood, we highly recommend Ballyhoo's and Oystercatchers (all I can say is YUM).
