How to describe? Close to everything, yet miles away, it isa beautiful peninsula located on Florida's West coast - on the Gulfcoast Florida beachfront. The area is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the west and by Tampa Bay & the Tampa Florida beaches to the east.

There are actually two parts to St. Petersburg – the downtown and cultural area, and the beach area - which includes St Pete's Beach,Treasure Island, and Madeira Beach.

Visitors have been coming here for nearly a century for the awesome sun, sand, sightseeing and water sports - you can't go wrong!!

On top of relaxing on the beach or hanging out at the pool, there is an endless list of things to do - though some may not be so apparent.

Ft. Desoto Park is a fun day trip and one of the best Florida state parks! Get a taste of "Old Florida" when you visit this fabulous park.

Enjoy one of America's top 10 beaches, go hiking, bike riding,fishing, and more (the typical outdoor type stuff).

From the park you can see the Sunshine Skyway bridge which spans Tampa Bay south to Bradenton Florida. Head across the bridge and visit the outlet mall for some great designer deals.

We highly recommend you watch a sunset from the Hurricane on Pass-a-grille Beach or Caddy's on Sunset Beach. We did this and it was certainly breathtaking.

Visit John's Pass Village and the pier on Tampa Bay to enjoy a number of fabulous eateries - which leads us into...

**Columbia Restaurant is an excellent choice with fine cuisine and locations across thestate.

**PJ's Oyster Bar is a great spot - mixed reviews but we enjoyed it and had a wonderful time.

**Crabby Bill's is one of our favorite seafood joints in all of Florida.

**Skidders was a spot we enjoyed breakfast at one morning. We were referred there andthe food and atmosphere was just what we were looking for.

**Sea Porch Cafe - perfect place to sample the exotic flavours of the Caribbean and Mediterranean.YUM!!
