My Florida Keys Vacation Experience

by Nancy and Nicki
(Arizona)

Key West - Rich in Fun and History

Key West - Rich in Fun and History

Nancy and Nicki were two nice ladies looking to travel from the Arizona for Florida Keys vacations.

They were on a tight budget which if you've ever been to this area of Florida can be a challenge
to find a quality place to stay and only for a few days (they weren't going for a week).

Their other criteria included being able to jump around and visit different sections of the Keys.

After doing what we could do to assist, here is their vacation experience after they came back...

Hi, Joe, I'm home again in Arizona. The Keys were a good relaxing experience, until we hit Key West Fl.

Too much, too many which was a bit overwhelming for us at first.

Went to the Hemingway house but not much else. The "house" in Key Largo that we stayed at turned out to be a trailer in a rundown campground.

It wasn't that bad, but we found it to be quite important to do our homework before going.

These ladies found their stay at Florida Vacation Rentals which we do recommend

Coconut Cay in Marathon was a good place to stop.
We enjoyed Big Pine and detoured into Duck Key which looked special from the road and turned out to be so.

Had a chance to snorkel in Key Largo and tried a SeaDoo in Marathon but I think I'm too old for that kind of ride. Or maybe being on such a big model made me feel I wasn't in control.

Here's some more Florida pictures from our trip...

I also asked if they would go back - here is their response...

I would like to go back, at least to Key West, which we didn't really explore though we did take the tour tram around (waste of money). It would probably have to be a cruise stop when it would be like sailors breaking out on leave in the big town.

The tram driver said it's always that crowded though which is a turnoff. Maybe in Florida hurricane season?
