Why You Would Want to Choose Ft Myers Florida & Fort Myers Beach...

Seeing what Ft Myers Florida has to offer just from us would be doing you an injustice.

Yes, we have been there, however our site is to provide you with all that Florida and Fort Myers Beach has to offer.

So, I have asked a friend to write about living in Ft Myers Florida and describe the beauty and fun that attracts millions of people to this great Florida beach every year.

Ft Myers Florida has a lot to offer travellers

Billy writes:

Growing up on Fort Myers Beach, Florida, was an experience I'll never forget. This beautiful little island community offers white beaches, cool Gulf waters, and gorgeous sunsets, perfect for that summer vacation or romantic getaway.

Accomodations range from the tropical and exotic to the grand and luxurious. For those vacationers who prefer instant access the beach, The Pink Shell, on the nortern tip of the island, has a number of cozy, "tropical" cottages for reservation. Be on the lookout for the frequent bonfire parties... they're a great chance to make new friends.

For those who'd rather stay in comfortable and classy accomodations, there is the Sun Caper condominium on the Southern end of the island.

This 9-story building is only feet from the beach and offers the use of a pool, tiki bar, and inside party room. The beach on the Southern end of the island is a little less crowded, and easier to unwind.

If you want to relax to the sound of the rolling tide, the Sun Caper should be your first option.

Those who like their accomodations somewhere in the middle, there is The Outrigger, near the center of the island.

This unique and charming hotel offers close access to the beach, a pool, restaurant, and outside bar. The Outrigger is close to the Villa Santini Plaza stripmall, which has several gift shops, bars, restaurants, and a grocery store.

Fort Myers Beach has a wealth of entertainment to choose from. For children (and adults) there is Pirate Pete's Arcade and Video, a neat little arcade with skiball, video games, and prizes.

The northern end of the island, near the Lani Kai, has a number of jet-ski and parasail rentals. Some of the prices are a little high, so ask questions and shop around for the stand with the best deal.

The Lani Kai is the "hot spot" of the island.

It's large 12-story lime-green edifice is unmistakable and can be plainly seen when at the top of the Mantanzas Pass Bridge (coming onto the island.)

This hotel has it all: excellent beach locale, two bars, one downstairs and one upstairs, on the roof. There is a large dance floor open to the beach near the bottom of the bar, and local DJs, live bands, and the in-house raggae band, perform regularly.

Bar service extends out onto the beach-front, allowing you to stay on your seat or lay on your towl and enjoy the Ft Myers Florida sun and sand while cocktail waitresses serve you...

So much fun and sun that you'll never want to leave!!

Angie's Aunt Linda has lived on Florida houseboats most of her adult life.

Recently we took a drive from Sarasota Florida down to Ft Myers Florida to eat at a little dive and see where she lived and why she said we must visit.
She was right, Ft Myers Florida & Fort Myers Beach was awesome!

We pulled into a Best Western that had a little restaurant that my in-laws raved about.

The name you say? Pinchers Crab Shack! This place was just what a Florida restaurant should be. Sitting right on the bay of Ft Myers Florida, you could dock your boat and come right in.

Pinchers Crab Shack - Man was it good

The view was outstanding overlooking Ft Myers Florida and the atmosphere was really cool. Fun sayings, cool signs, laid back staff, wooden furniture, and a menu that has much to choose from.

If you are going for a quick dinner, happy hour, or a night out, Pinchers is a good choice.

I ordered the Fish n Chips as I heard it was excellent. Angie ordered a Cheeseburger and after I finished the Fish n Chips (highly recommend), I devoured her Burger.

Did I mention happy hour? Get there by 6pm and it's 2-for-1 drinks. I surely didn't drive home!

So, after killer food, good beer, and taking some awesome pictures, we headed back from Ft Myers Florida & Ft. Myers Beach to Sarasota making note that we will be visiting again!!
