When I think of Key West Florida beaches, I think of a favorite on our list of Florida vacation
spots. It makes me think of the songs of Jimmy Buffet...
the laid back, party loving,
family style, romantic getaway that he portrays. Oh yes, there were pirates there in
the 1800's.
Key West is rich in history. You could visit there and spend time doing nothing
but enjoying the history of this valuable city. With incessant sunshine, clear seas,
bohemian style, and fairy tale-type architecture, Key West is definitely distinct
from all other Florida vacation spots.
The best part of Key West is you will get a Carribean style vacation that
is much less expensive. So, leave your cell phones & laptops off, leave your
worries at home, throw on some shorts and sandals and let's explore why this is
one of the Florida vacation spots you will visit over and over...
Key West Florida beaches are not just for certain types of Florida beaches people. It offers an excellent vacation
for families with children of all ages (one of the best Florida family beaches), anyone looking to let loose (lots of bars and Key West Florida topless beaches), or those of you
searching for romance (it is great for weddings or renewing your vowels also).
When it comes to Florida vacation spots, Key West Florida beaches offer so many things to do in Florida.

Visit the beaches:
The beaches are beautiful. The Key West Florida beaches we visited had warm water and tons of seaweed floating
from the reefs. You have to swim out at least 50 yards to see the crystal clear water- but it was beautiful once we got out there. So, if you have a raft, small sailboat, or jet ski, it's perfect.
If you plan on lounging on the beach, you must visit Bahia Honda State Park. That is where you'll find the white sand and clear blue waters up close.
Families note that there are a few Key West Florida topless beaches, so you may want to watch for that with your children.

Venture around town- Tour the Island: Do this on a scooter, walk, or go bicycle riding on Florida beaches. Getting around by car is tougher b/c of the size of the island and number of people.
Plus, you won't be able to take in the amazing scenery, with the swaying palm trees, neat courtyards, and arrangement of buildings.

Be sure to take part in some water activities: Fishing, boating, renting waverunners,
parasailing, and scuba/snorkeling are just a few items you must put on your list. Key Largo diving is supposed to be some of the best.

Shop: Whenever we go on vacation, we go shopping. It seems to be a prerequisite. I think
my wife has her own savings account just for this. Key West has shopping that you can't find
at any of the other Florida vacation spots.

Make your way over to Duval St.: If you do nothing else for the entire trip, hang
out on Duval St. Experience the Duval Crawl- if you're up to it. Step into the shops,
enjoy the entertainment, get mouthwatering food at any of the restaurants, and
have fun smoking cigars & sipping on cocktails in some of the watering holes.
- You must see a sunset at Mallory Square. I thought I was in heaven when I saw this. As Forrest Gump says, "I didn't know where heaven began and the earth ended!" This is so true. You can also enjoy a Sunset Cruise- we highly suggest this of all the Florida vacation spots.
Be sure to go to Crabby Dicks, Blue Heaven Restaurant, and Alice's Key West Restaurant.
They offer a variety of food from Carribean, to American style, to Seafood. You won't be disappointed in any of these.
These are just of few items you must do. The arts and entertainment of the island brings about a variety of Florida beaches people. Everyone is friendly and laid back. Anyone we have talked to states that they will return to the Key West Florida beaches.
Before we conclude our visit to one of the best Florida vacation spots of Key
West, we wanted to share our trip there. It was only for a day, but all the information we have
put on this page, represents what Key West is all about.
We started on the beaches in Miami Florida where we were staying for the week. Woke up early on a
gorgeous sunny day. Hopped in our Spider convertible, grabbed some coffee and
bagels, and headed south along the beaches A1A Florida. The drive had to be one of the best parts and something
you must do at least once.
Once there, we found out why people don't just lay around on the Key West Florida beaches. I don't like
seaweed, but we swam over it for about 50 yards to get to the clear waters, which by the way were amazing.
Then we ventured
over to Bahia Honda State Park (we asked where to go for beach quality) and the beaches
and water was breathtaking.
After frying ourselves in the Florida sun (make sure you take your
beachwear, sunscreen, and sun glasses), we drove around the island witnessing the culture and Florida beaches people.
Everyone was out doing something. From the water sports, to relaxing, to walking,
to traveling around on a scooter, to shopping, to hanging out on Duval Street, everyone
was doing something and having a great time.
We spent the rest of the day taking notes on what we must do when we come back and hang
out on Duval St. I sipped on Coronas, while listening to the sounds of the Carribean and
watching my wife spend money in the shops.
We had a great dinner at Crabby Bills (I'm a
sucker for seafood), watched the sunset at Mallory Square,
and headed back to the beaches in Miami Florida, craving more of this Florida vacation spots
adventures.
