First, I have to admit, I am not an expert fisherman. My Florida fishing experience involves chartering a boat, paying to fish from the pier or fishing Florida beaches. My StepDad loves to take his equipment and go Florida offshore fishing from about100 yards out.

I do have some experience. My Dad and I used to go fishing all the timewhen I was a kid. What a great time for a father and son. We always had a blast andcame back with tons of fish (I usually had more even though he's the expert)!!

Anyhow, I do know what the equipment is (rod, reel, bait, tackle, etc.). I know how to work a boat.I know how to bait a hook and take a fish off. But, that is the extent of my knowledge. So, I have asked around for some tips and reminders so you fully enjoy your Florida fishingvacations.

Whether you charter a boat and go Florida deep sea fishing, fish from land or the Florida piers, go saltwater, or fresh, you should know a few things before hand...

First, what type of fishing do you want to do? Florida deep sea fishing or Florida offshore fishing?

Plan ahead- even before you leave. Are you going to charter a boat, rent equipment, or take you own? You'll want to make sure you can book Florida fishing vacations - they do fill up quickly (use this link and do a search for Florida fishing).

If you have equipment or fish a lot and need to buy equipment, then do that. It will save you money in the long run. Plus, you can take your fishing stuff anywhere and fish Florida beaches or go Florida offshore fishing for a few hours during your Florida vacations.

• Be courteous of others fishing, swimming, or whatever around you.
