There are a number of ports to venture off on a Florida or Caribbean Cruise!

taking a cruise from florida

Determine which cruise ports in Florida to take off from if you are taking a cruise around Florida or into the Caribbean.

You know there are different types of cruises and we will mention them all, however this page is about the major ports that will wisk you away on a vacation of a lifetime!!

We will mention a few things to do while on land, plus we'll hint at our favorite travel site so you can find airfare and lodging for your trip to and from the cruise ports in Florida.

Cruise Ports in Florida

  • Port Canaveral:
Port Canaveral is the second busiest port in the world and continues to grow.Set sail aboard a number of major cruise lines including Carnival, Disney,Royal Caribbean, and more. Parking at Port Canaveral's Cruise Terminals is paved, gated, and under 24-hour surveillance so you will feel safe while cruising the deep blue seas. You can also take casino cruises from Port Canaveral, which will be discussed in anothersection of our site.

  • Port Everglades:
Set off on a variety of day and multi-day cruises to the Caribbean and South America. Located in Broward County Florida, known for both a cargo port and a cruising port. Some fun facts about this Florida cruise port include, 12 cruise ship terminals, more than 20 cruise lines, and 3,000 cruises annually.Port Everglades also has the straightest & port in the Southeast US.Less than 2 miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

  • Port of Tampa:
This is another one of the major cruise ports to choose from. Sail out into theGulf of Mexico on any of the major cruise lines and choose from 4, 5, 7, 10, 11 and 14-day itineraries. Radisson Seven Seas Navigator has joined the fleet along with Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and Celebrity Cruises. This makes the Port of Tampa another of the major cruise ports out of Florida.Plus you can visit beautiful Tampa before you head out!

  • Port of Palm Beach:
Located in Riviera Beach, Florida the Port of Palm Beach is known more for it's casino cruises. It sails twice daily so you can take a five-hour vacation aboard the Palm Beach Princess' Casino Cruise (more to come on casino cruises). The Port of Palm Beach is closeto Port Canaveral, so taking a Caribbean Cruise, you may want to consider that port.

  • I must also mention Disney Cruise Lines as one of the Florida ports. Disney Cruises offer a great family vacation that has something for everyone. Enjoy spaciousrooms, Disney entertainment & activites, and exotic excursions. More to come on DisneyCruises in another section.

There are a number of cruise ports to venture off into the seas. The above are the major Florida ports if you are looking to sail away for a week or more.

Remember you may need travel and accomodations in the surrounding area before you headout and when you come back into port.
