Travel to the Clearwater Florida Beaches...
Learn Why it's a Top Florida Vacation & Travel Spot

The Clearwater Florida beaches are our favorite of all the beaches
we've traveled to in Florida.
We have set up this page not to provide our story, but to provide a brief
overview of information regarding
hotels, attractions, the beaches, travel, and show you why Clearwater Beach is
one of Florida's top vacation spots (at the end you'll find a link for more in depth
info and to plan your trip).
Because of the world-renown beaches, extensive recreational fun,
walking distance to restaurants and attractions, all types of accommodations
designed to fit every budget and taste, and array of nature-based attractions, we are the
place to be on the Gulf Coast of Florida!!
The Clearwater Florida beaches are located on the Gulf of Mexico near
Tampa Bay. This is doubly appealing because you can enjoy both the attractions of
Clearwater and Tampa.
Rated as Florida's best activity beach by the Travel Channel and one of the top 10 beaches
in the U.S. you can't go wrong with Clearwater Florida beaches.
Miles of white, sandy beaches are perfect for beach volleyball & other
activities, laying out in the sun,
building sand castles, running, pet play, and more.
I have been told that the best part of Clearwater is that you get many other popular
Florida beaches all wrapped into one without the headaches of crowds, wild nights,
or mayhem. You will find plenty to do there and is perfect for family, couples,
young, and old.
After a long day of enjoying the sun, playing on the beaches, taking part in various
water activities, you must view a sunset and entertainment at Pier 60.
Rated with 4's and 5's out of 5 for criteria including, swimming, sand, atmosphere,
family friendliness, non-beach activities, and overall vacation fun, the Clearwater
Florida beaches are a top choice for any vacation.
If you don't believe us, just read what two of our friends said about Clearwater.
They travel there whenever they get a chance and it seems to be their top choice.

Now that we've gotten to the razzle dazzle of Clearwater, let's move
on to the details...

Clearwater Beach Hotels
There are plenty of hotels to choose from for budgets of any size.
The key spot that we always try to get is on Gulfview Blvd. If you want a more
quiet spot you might try a little north or south of the main circle.
If price is not an issue I would look into:
- The Sheraton Sand Key Resort &
- Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort
Some of the other hotels if you are on a budget include...
- Clearwater Beach Resort
- Travelodge- I mention this b/c we stayed here and had a great view,
walk to the beach and shops, and the place was cheap yet clean
- Sea Captain Resort
There are too many to list. Just make sure you know you're location and
if you want to be on the beach be sure you are. You can get great deals
for beachfront hotels on the Clearwater Florida Beaches.
Attractions
There is plenty to choose from when visiting Clearwater Beach.
Choose from Water Parks such as Busch Gardens in Tampa. You are even
within driving distance to Orlando which could be an awesome day trip.
If you love golf, there are a half a dozen courses to choose from including Chi Chi
Rodriguez Golf Club (I had fun playing there and it was in great shape at the time).
If you are looking for things other than relaxation, putt putt, dinner, shopping,
drinks, and such, you will want to visit Tampa or St Petersburg which is right over the
bridges of Clearwater.
There are museums, Riverboat Cruises, Kids Activities, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Pier 60,
State Parks (like Sand Key Park), and such within Clearwater Beach.
Food and Drinks
We headed over to Crabby Bills and had excellent Crab Legs and Seafood. However if you are on the
Clearwater Florida beaches you have to eat at Bob Heilman's Beachcomber Restaurant,
and Shepard's Beach Restaurant. They are always tasty and we have never missed eating
at either of these places at least one night.
Any place, such as Mugs n Jugs, that has great finger foods and beer is where I seem
to migrate.
The Weather
Bottom line, the Clearwater Florida beaches are great for that romantic getaway,
week of beach fun and relaxation, and overall good time. If you are looking for
complete action and excitement I would recommend other areas, but Clearwater has it's
array of action.
