Discover How to Find Cheap Hotels in Orlando!

Cheap hotels in Orlando are available with our tips! This page is more than a list of cheap hotels in Orlando.

It is all about helping you find and locate the best deals and stays in Orlando and Disney.

There are on-site spots, Disney hotels themselves, and great places off-site, yet nearby that will allow you to save and enjoy your trip to Orlando.

Let's dive right in and hunt down some cheap hotels in Orlando...

You'll have to really weigh your options here because what you may get with each hotel could save you money overall and not just in the price of the stay.

Staying On-Site:

  • You get Disney Magic 24/7! The whole point of going to Orlando is to take in the wonderful world that we all dream about. Even watching Mickey at home with my kid puts me in a happy mood and lets me get away from my daily stresses. Plus, if you stay on-site, you get extra hours through Disney's special programs.

  • You'll also get special services, guaranteed quality, be close to everything imaginable, the kids will absolutely be in heaven, and more.

  • The only drawback is that they can get expensive and the rooms are made to sleep, not hang out or anything else. Like Las Vegas, they make their money while you're out there having fun! A side note to this is that getting offsite in Orlando is just as much fun as there are plenty of tasty restaurants and things to do.

As for cheap hotels in Orlando, there are four categories you'll find. Value resorts will afford you roughly under $150 a night. This is all you need if you don't plan on doing much more than resting and showering up. Trust us, in Orlando you won't want to be in the room.

Moderate and Deluxe resorts will afford you more luxuries and amenities. Expect to spend upwards of $400 plus a night if you want and need more stuff in your hotel. There are plenty of each so be sure to just do some homework before choosing one. Most are set up to be competitive so that they stay filled and provide what's needed for your magical trip.

Another thought is to forgo cheap hotels in Orlando to camp and enjoy one of the RV parks. Talk about saving money. However, don't give up too much if you don't have the proper supplies and so forth. You'll end up miserable in the Florida heat. If we must recommend one, it has to be Fort Wilderness Campground. Cabins may be available.

Disney Hotels:

Don't stay at this haunted mansion!! One of Disney's great attractions We could literally write a book about all the cheap hotels in Orlando & Disney.

There are more strenuous rules on these that could cost you a lot more money if you don't abide and understand their regulations. Be sure to read the fine print, so to speak. Don't let this deter you as these are miraculous places to stay!

The best value resorts & cheap hotels in Orlando to look into that we highly recommend inlcude; All-Star Resorts (there's the movie, music, and sports resorts) and Pop-Century Resorts.

If you want a more upscale hotel or resort that the other cheap hotels in Orland aren't providing, we suggest The Caribbean Beach Resort, Coronado Springs Resort, and Port Orleans Resorts.

These are going to cost a bit more, but may be worth it depending on what you want/need. They all offer various atmospheres and specific stays that will ensure a wonderful Orlando vacation.

Finally, let's take a look at our favorite hotels of all when it comes to an Orlando vacation - off-site!

Our favorite thing to do is spend as little as possible on a hotel (making sure it's clean and quiet though) and spend the money on Orlando Florida attractions, shopping, and driving to the nearest beaches Clearwater or Cocoa Beach!

The best parts of staying off-site are:

  • You get more for less!
  • It can be nice a peaceful
  • Free breakfast and kids eat free - remember they have to compete with the resorts on-site, so they'll do a lot more for you many times
  • You're actually close to everything and that includes everything Orlando - not just the parks
  • Many can still get you discounts and free parking among other benefits to the attractions
  • Just ask and you shall receive!

Once again some of your options include, home rentals, RV parks, large hotel chains (you can get suites and extra amenities for less), condos, and more. There are more options when staying off-site.

Some of the larger cheap hotels in Orlando chains that come to mind that are typically safe choices are, Quality Inns, Days Inns, Radisson, and Best Westerns. Also, there are plenty of Florida vacation rental by owner spots to choose from if a hotel is not your fancy.

Honestly we have discussed with folks who have done both and although the kids loved the on-site spots more, the parents almost always voted to go off-site. I guess it just is a matter of making everyone happy. The kids are certainly not there for the hotel!

You've got Kissimmee, Downtown Disney, Lake Buena Vista, and anywhere near International Drive are the places we look. That ensures that the above and below tips stand strong.

Some final tips on obtaining a cheap hotel in Orlando when staying on or off-site are:

  • Remember the time of season when booking
  • Don't be afraid to call the hotel directly and negotiate a little
  • See if you can get some discount Disney tickets
  • Know all additional fees and what you get for the money
  • Watch for gimmicks - i.e. "kids stay free" - don't fall for the used car salesmen approach
  • Ask about Disney World information and insider tips
  • Bring your own cooler or fridge - we didn't realize the benefit of this tip until we went, so don't forget one
  • There's a reason why something is cheap - you get what you pay for! If it's less than the norm, than you may want to pass
  • Have a good time!
